Review: Weleda Sea Buckthorn Range

Apologies for being MIA lately, I have been so busy with work, life in general and now I'm back in full force! When it comes to body care products, I have never paid much attention to ingredients and I used to buy whatever is available at the supermarket. However, my skin has changed drastically over the past couple of years as I suffered with dryness, itchiness and sensitivity appearing in the picture - especially around my hands, legs and arms. Thus, I have decided to explore natural body care brands that will help tackle these issues and maintain the overall well-being of my skin. I have recently been contacted by Al Manara Pharmacy who were kind enough to send me products by Weleda, the Sea Buckthorn range in specific and I was so excited to test it out.
This wasn't my first time trying out Weleda, I have tried a body cream from this brand before and it passed the test with flying colours - offering my skin lots of hydration and maintaining its suppleness. As a little background on Weleda, It's a German pharmacy brand that has been in the market since 1921 and it specialises in holistic and natural cosmetics. Many remember Weleda as a staple brand that grandparents swore by and used for years to treat common skin issues. So, I have decided to try the Sea Buckthorn range to find out If other products by this brand worked as good as the first one.

Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion (200ml):This lotion is rich in Sea Buckthorn seeds and oil, which help replenish and moisturise the skin. Also, it contains natural fatty acids and Shea butter that build the skin's defence against moisture loss. It comes in a big bottle with a pump, which makes it easy to dispense the desired amount of product. The lotion felt extremely lightweight, fast absorbing and did not leave any streaks on my skin. It also provided long lasting hydration and left my skin looking shiny and healthy. Lets not forget the unique fruity scent of this lotion as well as the entire range, which is both fresh and therapeutic for the skin and mind.

Sea Buckthorn Body Oil (100ml):Its a body oil that is supposed to invigorate and deeply nourish the skin. It contains the same main ingredient as the body lotion as well as fatty acids and vitamins, which all contribute to a more smooth and radiant skin. It comes in a regular bottle with no pump or dispenser, so you need to be careful when you pour the product out. It feels rich and moisturising yet it absorbs quite fast - leaving my skin looking radiant and healthy. I like to apply a few drops of this oil after a warm bath, so that it sinks in the skin better and leaves it smelling fresh for long.

Sea Buckthorn Body Wash (50ml):This creamy body wash gently cleanses the skin and leaves the skin soft and hydrated. It contains oranges, mandarins and grapefruits to add a zesty touch to the original unique scent of Sea Buckthorn. It comes in a squeezy tube that dispenses the product easily and this is quite standard for most body washes. I find this body wash extremely gentle on the skin and calming after a long day at work. It does not lather much but it does a great job in cleansing and preparing the skin before moisturising.

Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream (50ml):Infused with a natural blend of oils such as Sea Buckthorn and Sesame oil - this hand cream instantly moisturises rough skin and leaves the hands smooth. It comes in a generous tube of 50ml, this is quite unusual for hand creams because they always come in 30ml tubes. I have been suffering from dry hands from a very long time, but this cream helped reduce the itchiness and loss of moisture. It gives long lasting hydration, most hand creams seem to last for an hour or so but this one literally stays for long hours. has the same unique scent that all the other products have - mixed with a little bit of sandalwood making it extra special.

Overall Opinion:I'm totally in love with Weleda products, especially the Sea Buckthorn range and highlight recommend it for anyone on the hunt for natural and organic body products. I'm curious to try other ranges from this brand and will definitely continue purchasing it. Also, Weleda products are reasonably priced comparing to other natural products that I tried in the past and they weren't as effective.

Note: Weleda Products can be found at all Al Manara Pharmacy across UAE and Emanara account on souq.com
