Review: Skin Republic Foot Masks

Foot care is something that most people tend to neglect, especially if it means they have to use at-home foot care products - and let's face it, not everyone has the time or money to visit foot spas on regular basis. Thus, having simple at-home treatments for your foot can be handy, as it will help minimise these costly salon trips, while delivering similar results. I've put the Skin Republic foot masks to the test recently, as I'm equally interested to know if at home foot treatments work and in today's review - I'll be sharing with you my full experience with the foot peel and foot repair masks from this brand.
Before moving forward with this review, I wanted to highlight that these masks were kindly gifted to me by the brand but all opinions in this review are my own. Also, I won't be posting pictures of my feet for this review, as I know many of you wouldn't want to see peeled off feet!

Skin Republic Foot Peel:
Speaking frankly, I haven't had the best experience with foot peel masks in the past as they weren't as effective, with the Skin Republic masks however I was keen on following the instructions properly to get the desired results. The mask comes in the shape of socks, in which you wear for up to 90 minutes and they're supposed to make all the dead skin cells peel off and make your feet smooth like baby's skin. The socks are packed full of serum, made from Alpha Hydroxy acids including Ginkgo Biloba, green tea extract as well as Vitamin E to soften your feet. Before wearing this foot mask, I made sure to wash and dry my feet properly, then I wore the socks for a good 90 minutes. The serum felt a little tingly at the beginning, but this is a normal reaction to most products that contain acids. Also, I recommend reading a book or watching a movie while you have the mask on, as it's super slippery to walk with and you might have to sit until you remove it.  Moving forward to the results, I haven't noticed any peeling in the first 2-3 days, so I have decided to soak my feet on the 3rd day to help loosen the skin and boy did it work! My skin started peeling so much over the following week or so, and I made sure to buff off any skin that didn't seem to peel off. So, within 10 days my feet were extremely soft and smooth like it was born again, and I have to say peeling the dead skin off was my guilty pleasure! One thing to keep in mind when using these masks is if you have nail polish off,  the acid might eat it off. So, make sure you're not wearing any on or that your polish is due for a change :)

Skin Republic Foot Repair:
This mask is supposed to be deeply nourishing and hydrating for your feet - so I decided to use it after my feet were fully peeled off to help repair and maintain the new skin. Unlike the foot peel mask, you only need to apply this one for 15-20 minutes and the socks are packed full of hydrating ingredients such as shea butter, seaweed and peppermint. After removing the mask you're not supposed to wash your feet off and the serum should be massaged into your feet. The mask made my feet feel extremely nourished, smooth and I still feel like my feet look great, even after 3 weeks. These masks can also be used on their own without the foot peel mask, to help hydrate and soften rough feet.

Overall Opinion:
I'm highly impressed by the results achieved through the Skin Republic masks, as my feet has totally transformed in 10 days. I highly recommend trying them if you suffer from rough/dry feet, as these masks are super effective, affordable and the results will last for a long time. Also, you might want to refrain from wearing open shoes while your feet are peeling, as the skin won't look that attractive. But after the skin is fully exfoliated, you will fall in love with your feet! I will definitely re-purchase these masks again and use in a couple of months.

Note: Skin Republic Masks are available for purchase from Spinney's and Waitrose. The foot peel mask is priced at AED 63 while the foot repair one is priced at AED 23.50.

  1. I personaly hate foot peel of any type. I don't like sitting in wet plastic socks and the fact that my skin is peeling everywhere afterwards.
