Review: & Other Stories Makeup

I know, It's been a while since the last time I published a blog post, but as you may know I'm always juggling between work and blogging - so I don't get much time to sit and write for you guys any more *Sobs*. Luckily, in Ramadan our working hours are shorter and I do get a spare couple of hours to myself before Iftar, so today I've decided to power on and write a blog post. When you think of brands like "& Other Stories", you imagine their beautiful, bohemian dresses and garments - but you would never think the makeup range would be any good.

However, last time I shopped at their store, I spotted the wide range of beauty products they have to offer and was super intrigued to test them out. I picked up a few things the last time I shopped during the sales and in today's review I'll let you know the hits and misses. Also, the usual disclaimer, all the products were bought with my own money and I was not paid by "& Other Stoties" to write this blog post.

"Bisou Marron" Eye Shadow Palette:
This is an eye shadow quad that includes all luminous shades with satin finish. It comes with one light golden shade and three bronze/brown shades. The shadows seem to blend easily and they're all quite pigmented, except for the lightest shade, which definitely could have been better. But overall the shades are quite wearable and can be used on day-to-day basis. The shadows has a little bit of kick back too, so I would say do your base after you've done the eyes or make sure you tap the excess from your brush when applying.

Matte Eye Shadow in Stockinette Beige:
This is a bone shade single eye shadow that can be used as an eye base or to highlight the brow bone. The formula is super creamy, blends easily and is highly pigmented as well - comparing to other light colored eye shadows. To be honest, I prefer this formula to the other eye shadow quad, as it doesn't have as much kick back and also layers on the eyes nicely. & Other Stories eye shadows also come in different finishes from metallic to creamy pearl ones.

Marrabas Mole Blush in "Satin Magenta":
This is a soft matte blush that comes in 10 different shades and I chose this light baby pink color. At first you might think the blush is not that pigmented, but once you start layering it, you will fall in love with the soft and natural finish. The formula is very creamy for a matte blush and blends into the skin easily without looking patchy. It does not look cakey on the skin or accentuate imperfections, which is a major pet peeve for me when it comes to blushes.

The Sun glow Duo Bronzer in "Sun Tan":
This is a bronzer that is split in two shades, one is light and the other is slightly darker, so you can customize the intensity of your bronzer. The products is extremely pigmented and as you know with bronzers this can be both a good and bad thing. On a positive note, the shade is very pretty and blends into the skin nicely, making your complexion look tan and healthy. But you need to be light handed with this product to avoid applying too much.

Overall Opinion:
I'm quite impressed with the quality of makeup from "& Other Stories" and would definitely go back to try other products and shades. The only product I probably wouldn't re-purchase is the eye shadow quad, as the pigmentation and formula were not the best and there are probably better palettes in the market for a cheaper price. Otherwise, I'm still using all products on daily basis and will keep you posted if I do end up buying more.

Note: I don't have the original prices of the products, as I bought these on sale. However, the prices are all average and a tad higher than drugstore products. You can find the makeup range at all "& Other Stories" branches in UAE.
