Review: Banila Co. Clean It Zero

If you've been following me for a while, you would know I can't live without face cleansing balms or oils - these are the best makeup removal inventions ever! That being said, not all the balms I have tried in the past were ideal - as some were too greasy or sticky and won't even wash off! I've done my homework and read so many positive reviews about the Clean It Zero face cleansing balm from Banila Co. and it was only appropriate to give it a try. Today's review will be all about my experience with this over-hyped balm and I will let you know if it was a hit or miss.

For those of you who are not aware of Banila Co. as a brand, it is one of the leading Korean skincare and makeup brands in the market. I won't bore you with details about the background of the brand whatsoever, but I highly suggest paying their website a visit if you want to know more about their product offerings.  As usual, this blog post is not sponsored as the product was bought from my own money and all the opinions reflected in this article belong to me :)

Packaging:
The product comes in a huge pot along with a spatula, which I find very useful in scooping out the product and for hygienic purposes as well. These cleansing balms come in two sizes and I chose the bigger one - as there wasn't much of a difference in prices between both sizes. Also, appearantly the packaging you're seeing here is a limited edition, but usually it comes in different versions and in solid colours. The pot is huge to take around while traveling, but I took it with me anyways on my last trip - as I knew it wouldn't leak or break. However, I think you can depot the product in smaller pots if you want to save space in your luggage.

Product/Experience:
As I mentioned before, the product comes in various versions that does different things to the skin  such as revitalising, purifying and nourishing. I think my version is just the original as it doesn't say anything else on the packaging. So, this product is supposed to be enriched with vitamins C and E as well as natural oil to dissolve your makeup and leave your skin feeling hydrated. The product smells a little sweet but fresh at the same time and I'm a big fan of this scent. The balm looks pretty solid in the pot but as soon as you rub it between your palms, it turns into an oil. I find that it dissolves all my makeup efficiently and it rinses off easily as well. It gets rid of all traces of makeup, leaves my skin nourished and does not leave any oily residue behind. Also, many people think that using a balm or oil might cause break outs - this is obviously a myth as the product does not congest your pores or sit on top of the skin. I like to follow with a second cleanser after this product, but that's because I'm obsessed with cleansing my skin and always want to make sure there are no traces of makeup. Not to mention that you don't need to use much of this balm to cleanse your entire face.

Overall opinion:
I'm highly impressed by the quality of this balm as it removes all my makeup in no time and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I highly recommend trying this product if you're on the hunt for an effective balm that won't break the bank. I would say the price is somewhere in the middle between drugstore and high end - but this pot will last you for ages as you only need a tiny amount. I'm also curious to try other products by this brand and will definitely keep you posted about my future purchases.

Note: I bought this product from a Korean website, but you can easily find it on Noon.com or Souq.com - it is priced around AED 116- 130
