Review: Kat Von D New Tattoo Liners

If you've been following me on Instagram for while, you would know that I can't live without liquid eyeliners and love creating a cat eye makeup look! Also, I've been loyal to Kat Von D's Tattoo liner in trooper for years and I wasn't able to find a better replacement or dupe till date. With that in mind, when I got gifted a couple of new tattoo liner products from the brand, I was super thrilled to find out what's special about these new eyeliners and this is exactly what I'm going to review for you today.

As ever, these items were kindly gifted to me by Influenster and Kat Von D but all opinions in this blog post are my own. Now let's get into the review!

The Dagger Tattoo Liner:
I'm a big fan of the original tattoo liner, as it has a very fine felt tip that allows you to draw precise lines and the perfect wing. The dagger liner however, has a new angled felt tip that is supposed to help you create a perfect straight line just like a dagger. The first time I used this eye liner, I felt like the felt tip had different dimensions - so one side draws a very fine line and the other one draws a slightly thicker line. This can be a little tricky if you're a beginner with liquid eye liners, so it's advisable to start drawing very small strokes in order to create the perfect wing. On the other hand, the dagger liner shares the same exceptional formula the original tattoo liner has and it glides on the eyes smoothly and dries as matte black. So, I'm a big fan of the formula, color of this eyeliner but I still prefer the old felt tip from the original tattoo liner - even though I kind of got used to drawing with the dagger liner as I have been doing winged liner for years. If you're on the hunt for a pitch black eyeliner that won't budge or smudge all day long - I highly recommend giving this one a try!

The Last Liner:
The first thing that caught my eyes about this liner is the packaging, as it looks like a sharp wand that you can literally use to stab someone! (but don't do that!) I was a little puzzled by this eyeliner at first, as it doesn't come with a fine felt tip and instead it has an applicator that looks like a straight doe foot! I've had to look at tutorials on YouTube to find out how to use it and that was quite useful. This is supposed to be an eyeliner for your water line and lash line - which dries in seconds and stays on all day. Now, I don't usually apply black liner on my water liner, but I do like adding some on the outer part of my lash line to make my eyes look bigger. So, I have been using this liner on my outer lash line and it looks absolutely gorgeous. However, the applicator is always saturated with so much product so I always wipe it on a tissue to remove the excess. I'm really impressed by this eyeliner and find the applicator really gentle on the lash line area and I believe it would feel the same if used in
the water line.

Overall Opinion:
I'm so in love with these two eyeliner products from Kat Von D and think they have changed my eye liner game. As mentioned before, I still prefer the felt tip from the old tattoo liner but this one's formula is just as good, if not better and I highly recommend giving it a try. The lash liner also adds lots of definition and boldness to your eyes, so I suggest you try it as well.

Note: Kat Von D products are all available for purchase from Sephora.
